Bible Study Opportunities

Here at Good Shepherd Lutheran we have many opportunities for Christians to serve their God by diligently studying the Bible. Good Shepherd is also looking at additional ways to offer Bible Study.

Sunday Morning Bible Study:

Adult Classes & Teen Classes 9:15-10:15 a.m.Stained Glass

In Bible Class, our prayer is the Holy Spirit strengthens our faith that we may further "grow in the grace & knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." We have the opportunity to look more in depth at certain topics or portions of Scripture. Bible Class gives us the chance to learn God´s truths with more of a chance to discuss and ask questions. While we discuss and dig into the Word together, it is also our prayer that we become more comfortable "talking religion" with one another in order that we may also be more confident to witness Christ in the world.

Sunday School:

3–year–olds – 8th Grade: 9:15-10:15 a.m.

The children are divided by grades into various classrooms to study God´s Word. In Sunday School the children are guided through God´s truths while studying weekly Bible stories. We have adult members leading our children in these age–graded classes each Sunday. The classes conclude with a short music lesson in the church.

Mid-Week Bible Class: September – May Wednesdays 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Wednesday evenings during the school year, all are welcomed to join us in the study room next to the church office as we work our way through a variety of topical Bible studies. It is a casual atmosphere and always develops into some interesting discussions.

Bible Information Class

Throughout the year, Pastor Seeger or Pastor Were will lead a series of 20 Bible Information Classes. Though these classes are geared for interested individuals who are considering membership in our congregation, they are offered with "no strings attached". Please speak with either Pastor Werre or Pastor Seeger if you are interested in these classes.

In-Home Bible Classes:

Periodically a topical Bible Study is offered in a member's home. This provides a more intimate, casual setting to search the scriptures with fellow believers. If you would like to host a Bible Study in your home, you may offer your availability to Pastor Seeger or Pastor Werre. You may lead the classes yourself if you feel comfortable to do so, or we will provide another lay-leader to lead the study. Likewise, if you would like to lead such a Bible Study, you may inform Pastor Werre, Pastor Seeger or one of the church elders of your interest. Be sure to check the Good Shepherd calendar for Bible Studies that you can attend.

"Jesus Cares" Ministry

Good Shepherd has implemented a program to minister to a group of developmentally disabled individuals from our community. Once a week they arrive at Good Shepherd and are taught God´s Word through Bible Stories, songs & activities. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks to implement this ministry of love and compassion.

Prayer / Information Chain

Following our Lord´s command to pray and to "always keep praying for all the saints" (Ephesians 6:18) our Prayer Chain offers an opportunity to pray for our brothers & sisters in our church family when special needs arise. You may offer your email address to accept the prayer requests via your home computer; otherwise you will be included on our phone line prayer chain. We pray knowing that "the prayer of the righteous man is powerful and effective" (James 5:16) and with the confidence that the Lord surely hears our prayers. If you have any questions please contact the church office.
